In June 2006, my dog, Carson, was diagnosed with and died from lung cancer. He was 8 years old. When I lived at home, I used to take a pitching wedge and hit golf balls into the horse pasture and he would retrieve them. My film, Learning to Play, is inspired by and dedicated to Carson and all the fun times we had together. It is a 3 minute animated short film about an uptight golfer and a fun-loving dog meeting on a golf course.
